Kymani @ Chapters-Indigo

This timely event was the catalyst for the activation of Amexem Cultural Society in Vancouver, BC. Ky-Mani Marley, son of the late iconic reggae superstar Bob Marley, besides being a popular reggae star in his own right, is also an accomplished author and a film actor, having starred in many Jamaican Reggae Cultural films over the last 10 years.

While Ky-Mani was in town for concerts in Vancouver and Victoria, B.C. we booked him with Chapters regional director to have a meet & greet book signing event for his newly released book “Dear Dad”, in both Vancouver & Victoria. This event was an intimate cultural dialog about the Black American and Caribbean communities’ experience, as well as a first-hand look at what life can be like being the child of a music and cultural icon.

This free and all ages public event was successful in both Vancouver and Victoria with all of the books being sold out in both locations. This event led to Amexem Cultural Society organizing a three city tour in Mexico for Ky-Mani Marley, his first tour in Mexico.
